General Description:

The Director of Operations is a senior leadership role responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the organization to ensure efficiency, effectiveness, and alignment with strategic goals. This individual works closely with executive leadership to develop and implement operational strategies, manage cross- functional teams, and optimize internal processes. The Director of Operations ensures that organizational policies, procedures, and standards are consistently followed and that all programs and services meet quality, financial, and performance expectations.

The Director of Operations will work close with the Chief Executive Officer, the Director of Finance, the Director of Community Education, the Director of Communications and the Director of Public Relations to participate in the Strategic Planning Process, Financial Sustainability, Continuous Quality Improvement and enhance the Reputation and Public Perception of the organization.

The Director of Operations will also ensure that all quality control state and federal compliance standards and regulations are met by the organization.

1.  Program Design & Implementation:

  • Design and Implementation of Core Services: Lead the development and execution of programs and services designed to promote community inclusion for people with This includes accessibility, ADA compliance, and quality assurance programs.
  • Monitor Compliance: Ensure all services and activities comply with DNWCD’s Code of Ethics, as well as governmental, contractual, and regulatory standards, particularly around the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and state and federal compliance requirements.
  • Performance Management: Oversee the establishment and implementation of performance metrics that measure progress towards
  • program goals and the organization’s mission. Use data-driven evaluations to continuously improve service delivery and effectiveness.
  • Consumer & Community Engagement: Gather feedback from consumers, community members, and stakeholders to assess program impact, ensure alignment with needs, and improve engagement

2.  Collaboration & Stakeholder Engagement:

  • Internal Collaboration: Work closely with the CEO, Director of Finance, Director of Community Education, Director of Communications, and Director of Public Relations to ensure alignment of organizational activities with strategic goals.
  • Partnership Development: Establish and maintain strong partnerships with local businesses, employers, and other organizations to promote ADA compliance, eliminate barriers for hiring people with disabilities, and expand DNWCD’s service reach.
  • Innovation & Resource Alignment: Develop relationships with progressive networks and organizations to advance the mission of DNWCD and increase capacity for future programs.

3.  Data & Reporting:

  • Data Collection & Reporting: Implement and manage data collection systems to track and report program outputs and outcomes, ensuring accurate and timely reporting for state, federal, and grant
  • Annual Reporting: Lead the preparation and submission of the annual 704 data collection and reporting process.

4.  Strategic Planning & Organizational Development:

  • Operational Planning: Collaborate with the CEO to develop and implement an operational plan that aligns with the strategic direction of DNWCD. Incorporate clear goals, objectives, and timelines that support the organization’s long-term vision.
  • Strategic Leadership: Participate in strategic planning processes to ensure that DNWCD’s services, programs, and operations are consistently meeting the expectations of consumers, Board members, and funders.
  • Identify & Implement Best Practices: Continuously monitor industry best practices and innovate service delivery to keep DNWCD at the forefront of disability

5.  Staff Management & Development:

  • Staff Supervision: Directly supervise staff as outlined in the organizational chart. Provide leadership, guidance, and support to ensure staff are equipped to meet program goals.
  • Employee Performance: Conduct regular performance reviews for staff, providing constructive feedback, professional development opportunities, and resources to improve job performance.

6.  Fundraising & Community Outreach:

  • Fundraising Participation: Actively contribute to DNWCD’s fundraising efforts, including participating in fundraising activities and initiatives aimed at supporting the organization’s mission.
  • Public Relations & Awareness: Support efforts to raise awareness of DNWCD’s programs and services in the community. Work closely with the Director of Communications and Director of Public Relations to ensure a positive public perception and engagement with the organization’s work.

7.  Additional Duties:

  • Meeting Participation: Attend all required staff meetings, organizational events, and other activities as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Education: A Bachelor’s degree in social services, Business Administration, Disability Studies, or a related field. A Master’s degree is preferred.
  • Experience: At least 7-10 years of experience in program management and operations including experience working with people with disabilities, preferably within a non-profit or community-focused environment. Prior leadership or supervisory experience is required.

Knowledge & Skills:

  • Strong understanding of ADA compliance, accessibility requirements, and disability inclusion practices.
  • Experience in data collection, analysis, and reporting, particularly in the context of federal and state requirements.
  • Proven ability to develop and manage programs and services that align with organizational goals.
  • Strong communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively across multiple departments.
  • Ability to manage complex, multi-faceted programs and initiatives while staying focused on strategic objectives and operational

Additional Information:
